Privacy at Irving Wine & Spirits.
A short, plain-English note on what happens to the information you share with this website. No dark patterns, no ad tracking, no selling your data — just what's needed to run a corner bottle shop online.

What I collect.
Two small pieces of information, and only when you actively give them to me:
- Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to the monthly newsletter through the footer form, your email address is sent to Beehiiv, the service that delivers the newsletter. That's it — no name, no demographics.
- Contact-form messages. When you fill out the form on the Visit page, the name, email, optional phone number, subject, and message you typed are emailed to me through Netlify Forms.
The website also generates standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) — these are kept briefly by Netlify, the host, for security and debugging. I don't look at them in normal operation.
What I do with it.
Your email gets the newsletter — usually once a month, sometimes less. You can unsubscribe with one click from any newsletter you receive; the link is at the bottom of every email.
Contact-form messages get a reply from me, usually within a day or two. I don't add anyone who emails me to the newsletter list automatically — those are separate.
Third parties on this site.
A few small embeds and services help the site work. Each one has its own privacy practices, linked below:
- Beehiiv — newsletter delivery and subscriber list.
- Netlify — website hosting and contact-form delivery.
- Google Maps — the embedded map on the Visit page is served by Google and may set cookies when the map loads.
- LightWidget — the Instagram feed embed pulls public posts from @irvingwinedc.
I don't run any analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts of my own on this site. If that ever changes I'll update this page first.
Cookies.
The site itself doesn't set any cookies. The Google Maps and LightWidget embeds may set their own cookies on the pages they appear on (the Visit and home pages). If you'd rather not load those, your browser's tracker-blocking settings will stop them — the rest of the site will still work fine.
Children.
This is a liquor-store website. It isn't directed at anyone under 21, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
Your choices.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter from any issue you receive. If you'd like me to delete your email from the subscriber list or remove a contact-form message from my inbox, send a note to jessechong@irvingwineandspirits.com and I'll take care of it.
Changes.
If I change anything material about how the site handles your information, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For small wording fixes I may not bump the date.
